Davenport Productions in South Manchester is the home of a newly formed writing partnership. The Independent Production company consists 4 friends and colleagues who share the same writing and production interests .With an aim to combine their own ideas and perspectives into a collaborative style, producing new and fresh visions for comedy and satire within television and radio.
The Davenport Productions team is made up of actors, writers and comediens who are currently working on producing a sketch show .
The team at Davenport consists of :
John Thomson, actor and writer. John is probably best known for his work in The Fast Show and Cold feet. John started out in and around the comedy clubs of Manchester and has his roots in stand up comedy. John has written extensivley for many highly successful television sketch and comedy shows.
Chris Gascoyne, actor and writer who is well known as Peter Barlow in Coronation Street. Chris appeared alongside John Thomson in the BBC drama series New Street Law.
Andy Pope, actor and writer. Andy has worked in TV, theatre and radio particuarly around the Manchester area where he trained.
John Draycott, actor and writer. John has worked extensivley in TV theatre and radio, John also trained in Manchester where he met Andy.
The team have all collaborated and worked together at some point and now aim to bring their gags to the forefront of british comedy.
In between writing and performing the chaps at Davenport Productions like nothing better than to play a few friendly rounds of Crazy Golf.
Where are we ?
The offices of Davenport Productions (pictured above) are located in the affluent business quarter at the heart of Withington, South Manchester and were setup in Oct 2007. Davenport believe that Manchester Comedy is unrivaled in its' history of performers, writers, comedians. The City has its' own sense of humour which will be revealed in our VERY funny scripts.
